Agility and Speed Training is something pretty much every athlete needs. Especially in baseball and softball. The ability to cut when running the bases, explode off the starting ‘blocks’, sprint towards a fly ball, or get out of a run-down are all components of speed and agility. There are others such as strength and overall coordination as well.

Baseball is one of those sports that a lot of kids model the Major Leagues because that is where every single kid who ever picks up a bat and glove wants to go. If your kid is playing baseball year round then that is an issue. And not a good one. If that is the case please watch this video:
A kid’s body is not an adult. It’s not fully developed and neither is there brain. Don’t treat them like little adults. They need rest. Teenagers need more sleep then any other population besides newborns.
They also need to be prepared for the rigors the season. They need in-season strength training, off-season, pre-season, post-season…….. whoa post-season? Yes! Why would you want to get weaker during the most important part of the season? Michael Jordan trained before every game.
